What happens if we have bad weather?
In the case of inclement weather, the decision of whether or not we are moving inside will be made by 10:00 a.m. on the morning of the concert. The decision will then be posted on Jazz on Jay’s Facebook page.
Do you provide chairs?
-When we must move indoors, either due to rain or air quality, yes there will be chairs.
-When we are outside, you should bring your own chairs.
It’s during lunchtime. Can I bring my own food?
Absolutely. Whether we are outside or inside, you are welcome to bring your own meal. BUT, with all the great restaurants, many of whom support the efforts to bring free music, we give a standing ovation to those who patronize the downtown cafes.
Are dogs allowed?
-When we are outside, well-behaved dogs on a leash are welcome.
-When we must move indoors, only certified therapy pets are welcome.
Do you accept donations?
Although this concert series is free, thanks to grant funding and our generous community supporters, gifts of any size are welcome and tax-deductible. Make checks payable to Jazz on Jay and mail to 432 State St., Schenectady NY 12305. Donations directly support fees for our local artists.
What about tips for the musicians?
Some of our grant funding is based on a welcoming and accessible atmosphere for all, which means we will not pass the hat or ask for tips for the musicians.
